So there it is. It is no where near completely finished, but I am loving how it is coming along! It has taken me a while to get to this stage (over two years) – but I think the time has really helped me narrow what my tastes are, and has helped me avoid making costly purchases on impulse.

If you would like see more of the fluff ball that has appeared in many of my shots – check out my ‘the cat‘ page.

  2. I love it so far! It’s so minimalistic and spacious! Are you renting? I have to say I adore the photo of Bailey sitting on the toilet. I would also love to see before and after photos if you have any :)

    • I actually bought about two years ago, and it is only now beginning to look like a house. I may have some before shots, they would probably just be empty rooms, but I’ll drag them out.
Yeah bailey wouldn’t get out of the shot, just wants to be a part of the fun!

    • Aww thanks! I love it too – every so often when cash is tight I think about selling up – but then I just can’t bear to think of leaving. I think I would give up a lot of things before I give up my house.

  3. I am loving to have found your blog, as we seem to have a couple of things in common: love for ragdoll cats, love/hate relationships with fringes and love for decorating.
I also want to slowly re-decorate the flat I recently moved to. And I spend hours looking at living and dining rooms on google, trying to get inspired and avoid expensive purchases that I will regret as well. I already have the dream dining room in my head, with all the items picked out. Now I just need the money, and it will take a while to get all of those items (if you put me in a store, i somehow manage to fall in love with the most expensive item there. always. no kidding), but at least i have a plan! now with the living room and bedroom… I am not really sure what will happen to them. Oh, well, I will have time to plan it, while saving for the dining room. :D

(also trying to include stylish cat items on that planning. makes it even harder!)

    • Thanks for your comment! I do have an immense love for ragdolls – mine is my baby!
I think slowly redecorating is definitely the way to go – I think if I had bought everything at once I would now hate how my house looked. I think the best is to keep a scrap book of what you are liking and see how your tastes change. I also have found some amazing pieces second hand – so that has saved me some money.
Stylish cat items are rare – and when you do find them they are usually hideously expensive – I find Modern Cat (http://www.moderncat.net/) has some great finds for these pieces.

      • Modern cat is a website I check daily! Such a shame some of my favorite items are just too expensive. but who knows, the kittens (and I!) may get one of the stylish cat items on my wish list this christmas! but some great things are DIY. My husband and I plan to replace the eyesore the cat tree in our living room is from one we will make. whenever it is ready I will post it on my blog, but we didn’t even start yet, it is not so easy to make it (we plan to start next month, hopefully). But we also want to make a litter cover for the litter box, like one of the DIY projects shared on modern cat. I agree it is better to do it slowly, and see how things are looking together. It is also nice every time a new piece arrives and you are completely satisfied with it!
